WEST – modelling of waste water treatment plants
WEST® is a powerful and user-friendly tool for dynamic modelling and simulation of wastewater treatment plants (WWTP). The extensive state-of-the art model and process library of WEST® enables you to model and evaluate almost any kind of modern WWTP.
WEST® is designed for engineers or professionals who want to simulate processes where physical, biological or chemical processes take place in water. With a mathematical model of a WWTP you will have the possibility to test any scenario of interest and to track the associated treatment efficiency as well as operational cost.
A typical WEST® application will help you to:
- Identify problems and costs
- Scenario simulations with current and future influent flow rate profiles
- Scenario simulations with current and future wastewater composition
- Identification of bottlenecks
- Identification of costs
- Test of operation robustness and risk analysis
- Design to solve problems and save money
- Evaluation of possible plant layouts
- Evaluation of possible control systems
- Optimize to solve problems and save money
With WEST® you can easily integrate your own know-how and has an open structure that allows for integration with supervisory systems (SCADA) and data management systems. WEST has been developed in collaboration with Ghent University and MostforWater.
