DHI offers the complete range of services and tools required for the planning and design optimisation of ports and marine terminals, breakwaters and coastal structures, navigation channels, hydraulic structures, bridges and causeways, water intake and outfall structures.

The consulting services include surveying, definition of hydraulic design conditions, conceptual design of structures, optimisation of structures and their interaction with the ambient hydraulic regime, including sedimentation and environmental impact assessments.

A combination of numerical modelling, hydraulic model tests, field investigations and an experienced specialised staff provide technically advanced and cost effective solutions to the specific needs of any project.

DHI has extensive experience within port planning and optimisation at all stages from pre-feasibility to detailed design and operation services.  Development of the optimal port solution requires an integrated approach where all aspects, for instance, wave disturbance, ship motions, operation down-time, sedimentation,  manoeuvring and environmental impact are taken into account. This often requires a combination of numerical modelling and hydraulic  model tests.
