DHI Water*Environment*Health Denmark and Puncak Niaga Signing
Ceremony
On March 15, 2007, Puncak Niaga and DHI officially signed a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) to develop the Puncak Niaga Research and Development
Centre (PRDC).
The Centre is to be a state-of-the-art, water treatment research centre in
Bukit Nanas, Kuala Lumpur, which currently houses Bukit Nanas water
treatment plant. It will not only address current problems in water supply
and wastewater, but will also be a one-stop solution, reference and
training centre for the industry in the country, and the region as well.
The official signing ceremony took place at Wisma Rozali in Shah Alam,
Selangor. PRDC was represented by PNHB's Executive Director, YAM Tengku
Dato' Rahimah binti Almarhum Sultan Mahmud while DHI was represented by
its Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Asger Kej and DHI (Malaysia) Water
Resources Manager, Mr. Chris Nielsen. The ceremony was witnessed by the
Ambassador of the Royal Danish Embassy, His Excellency Borge Peterson and
PNHB's Mananging Director, Y Bhg Dato Matlasa Hitam.
The ceremony marks the start of an exciting period for Puncak Niaga and
DHI, and for the water supply, distribution and wastewater sectors
generally in Malaysia.
