Financial Controller (Kuala Lumpur Office)

As part of our aggressive expansion plans, and in line with our long-term growth strategy, we are looking for a high calibre individual to maintain the efficient running of the finance function of our offices in Malaysia, being part of our regional SE Asia Cluster. Our expansion plans involve the setup of our Malaysian Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur (presently in Kota Kinabalu) under the umbrella of our regional office in Singapore. DHI's Head Office is in Denmark.

In connection with the further development and internationalization of the DHI Group, it has been decided to harmonize the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system of the entire group, including our offices in Malaysia.

Job Description:

  • Reporting to Managing Director in Kuala Lumpur and Regional Financial Controller in Singapore
  • Manage the finance team of DHI Malaysia to ensure that the company's operations meet corporate and business objectives
  • To take charge of finance and the accounts of the whole Malaysian operations, including budgeting and also liaising with Bankers
  • To handle the implementation of new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system under the instruction and guidance of our Head Office in Denmark, and our regional office in Singapore. Significant travel activities to our offices in Kota Kinabalu and Singapore are expected during the implementation phase of ERP.
  • Liaise with external auditors on audit / accounting issues as well as ensure compliance with all legislative and regulative requirements

Job Requirements:

  • A University degree in Accountancy or qualified CA / CPA (CIMA / ACCA / MICPA)
  • A member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience
  • Self motivated financial controller, "hands-on" and result-oriented with entrepreneurial spirit with good business acumen
  • Strive to perform in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to relate to all levels of staff
  • Strong analytical & planning skills & systems aptitude
  • Experience in financial / ERP system migration is an added advantage

Project Engineer (Kota Kinabalu Office)


DHI requires a Project Engineer for the Water Resources Department in our Kota Kinabalu office. The preferred candidate should have:

  • A relevant degree in Engineering or Science (Maths / Physics)
  • Experience in the application of numerical modelling to urban drainage and water resources, and / or coastal specialties
  • Good communication skills
The following tasks are expected of the successful candidate:
  • to assist in project work, including data analyses, numerical modelling, reporting, meetings and presentations
  • to assist in client liaison and business development activities
  • to assist in coordination and conduct of software training courses
  • to provide software support to DHI clients

The successful candidate will be an employee of a global group, with a network of support staff and specialists from around the world to provide assistance where needed. The successful candidate will be based in Kota Kinabalu, where they will join an existing team of 35 engineers and scientists. Liaison with and travel to our Kuala Lumpur office is expected, and there are opportunities to interact with our global group, notably our Singapore and Australian offices and the head office in Denmark.

A competitive salary package will be negotiated, depending upon years of experience of the successful candidate.
